Adventure #38 - Mirror.xyz
The home for web3 publishing
Hey thereš
Youāll now be getting the newsletter on a Monday.
Hope you donāt mind.
Hereās a doggo to get as Monday Motivation.

Onto the newsletter.
Today's plan:
Use this framework to look into a business:
(1) The product
(2) The founding team
(3) Funding & Hiring
Current events + business talk
(5) Meme of the week
(6) Hustler's ambition
Disclaimer: None of this is sponsored, I choose what to write about. This is not financial advice either!
Today is dedicated to Mirror.xyz

The Product
(i) problem
Not sure if this is the full range of problems but these are my thoughts:
Writers struggle to monetize their work
Collecting pieces of writing isnāt possible
Crowdfunding through writing is tricky
Supporters donāt receive āassets(/NFTs)" for their support
Revenue splits are done based on trust
(ii) solution & demo
Mirror is this cool web3 publishing platform where your posts turn into NFTs that can be collected (for free or paid)
Hereās my favourite one that Iāve collected

These NFTs can also be traded on the secondary.
Though demand isnāt much but collectors can still "flexā their assets.
Another amazing feature is connecting emails with wallet addresses.

The on-chain data can be analyzed with tools like Kazm (which I wrote about here) and collabs can be arranged for more utility š„

But my absolute favourite thing about Mirror is..
That it turns passive consumption (e.g. reading) into the active process of collecting.
I even recommended it to the friends in my LinkedIn network
Mirrorās crowdfunding feature is now paused but other people have used it pretty successfully before.
Emily Segal raised 24eth for a novel.
Jack Butcher is another example, raising 23eth for Ukraine.

You could also do revenue splits (e.g. if you had contributors in your article).

It was really cool, I hope they bring those features back.
So how does it look like??
This is your dashboard, on the left you create entries (= posts).

Itās very very simple so I wonāt do a detailed walkthrough.
Give it a try if you like, itās free to use.
(iii) how you can benefit
create blogs
collect articles
use on-chain data to know your supporters
involve your supporters in your journey
The founding team
Iām sure youāll recognize these names.
Safe to say Mirror is in very good hands. š„

Hustler's Ambition
(A section dedicated to frameworks/ideas/tools)
A cool observation from Colin and Samir.
If youāre a creator, I would definitely recommend following them.
Typical media company:
Remove the CEO and it can still function with its base intact
Creator media company:
Remove the creator and the whole thing falls
That's pressure...and a reminder to creators to keep your overhead low
