Adventure #59 - blocknative

Never lose another gas war | Gas estimator

Yo, before we get into todayā€™s short deep dive, I got a question.

Would any of you want to do a guest post following the format for covering a business???

  • You pick the business (could even be yours)

  • You get full credit and can link to your profiles

If that sounds of interest, can you reply to this email?
Or connect with me on LinkedIn @ https://www.linkedin.com/in/mitko7/ and please add something in the messag so I know (e.g. NEWSLETTER).

For expectations management:
ps writeup cannot be about an agency & I have the right to refuse your suggestion

Anyway, today's plan:

Use this framework to look into a business:
(1) The product
(2) The founding team
(3) Funding & Hiring

Current events + business talk
(4) Meme of the week
(5) Hustler's ambition

None of this is sponsored, I choose what to write about.
This is not financial advice either

Today is dedicated to Blocknativeā€™s Gas Estimator

The Product

(i) problem

Gas wars are no fun.
But theyā€™re even less fun when you have no idea wtf is going on.

šŸ™‚ ask me how I know šŸ™‚

Anyhow, it all got easier when I learned to blocknative.

Itā€™s a bear market so you probably wonā€™t need it for a while but thought Iā€™d share

(ii) solution & demo

Blocknativeā€™s gas estimator shows you the gas + suggests what priority fee to put down, depending on your urgency

The TLDR is - the further to the left, the higher your txn will go through, depending on the current gas.

It would be more expensive though so thatā€™s the tradeoff.

There are YT vids about gas wars.

Iā€™d ping one here but not sure which ones to recommend exactly.

Also, speaking of gas warsā€¦
Who remembers the Otherside mint?? šŸ˜

Thereā€™s also more cool things.

For example - a heatmap which shows you the different gas prices during the day.

^ You can use that to see when people are most active.

The Blocknative team has more products but I wonā€™t go into them now.

(iii) considerations

Will there even be a gas war anytime soon??

(iv) how you can benefit

  • Learn the basics of gas

  • Win gas wars

  • Understand when people are active

The founding team

Matt Cutler: CEO and co-founder (LinkedIn)

āž™ Founded collaborate[dot]come, exited to Cisco
āž™ Then worked at Cisco for almost 5yrs
āž™ CMO at Visible Measures Corp (grew the team from 15 to 150+)

Funding and Hiring

A) Funding - $15m in a Series A-1

B) Hiring - yes

For a DevOps/SRE Engineer - here

Favourite meme of the week

Hustler's Ambition

Observations from token2049

Thatā€™s it.

See you next Monday perhaps. UndecidedšŸ‘‹
